A project of designing and producing a custom tailored jacket. The starting basis of this project was to design, develop and then create a fully functional tailored jacket showing an in depth knowledge of sewing techniques and garment construction.
As for the thought process for this project i came to the conclusion that there is always a set specification of what a jacket is and that you merely change characteristics to create a custom piece.

With the theme falling into place i injected some colours into my inspiration boards





Once inspirational research had been gathered designing was the next step. Originally designed for a male the jackets final outcome did get changed to a female jacket (as it required a deeper knowledge of pattern making and construction).

With the final design selected i moved onto pattern cutting and toile making.







Once i had produced a full toile and after testing several fabrics and stiffing i mapped out all of the pattern pieces to create the final garment.
